Accommodation in Europe at 16?

Hello!

My friends and I aged 16 and want to travel in Europe in the summer to Paris, Amsterdam and London and we saw on the websites of the hotels they do not accept people under 18.

Do you know these cities hotels allow check in at 16?

Legally you cannot stay in a hotel or hostel, without a responsible adult. It doesn't matter which country you are in, the size of the hotel, whether you pay cash or with a card. Any hotel that lets you check in will be breaking the law, and hotels cannot afford to do this.

And, just so you know, you will not be allowed to drink either. As foreigners, it will be necessary for you to show your passports as ID.

The age of majority - when you are considered an adult - is 18 in Europe.

Before that you cannot do things such as enter into contracts in your own right. Hotels thus cannot deal with you in your own name.

Many smaller ones will of course so long as you pay upfront or at least leave an imprint (electronic pre-swipe) of your credit card. Are you old enough to have a credit card in your own name?

You cannot check in because you are not legally old enough to sign a contract. If a member of your group is 18 or over, they could.

A minor cannot make a contract and that is true everywhere. That is also why you do not have a credit card in your name. Maybe you are the second authorized user on your parents' CC, but you are not the owner.

Best bring sleeping bags because no hotel will rent to you.
