i am curious as i love russian culture and language! as they say in mother russia, gracias!
Honda and Mitsubishi are Japanese
Hyundai and Kia are Korean
Volkswagen and Mercedes are German
Lamborghini is Italian
Ford has factories in Europe (UK, Germany and Romania) manufacturing cars for the European market
Most Chevrolets sold in Europe are manufactured in South Korea
There are very few American made cars anywhere in Europe, let alone Russia
i have seen many Tahoes and and Hummers. I think they are both imported from USA. Tahoe and Corvette are, i KNOW, but Hummer not SURE. I am yet to SEE a 'Vette here. I see many Suburbans too, unsure if they are Russian made or USA. Cruze is extremely visable and i think with some certainty that they are locally produced. For has a Fusion (Google Фьюжен) to see OUR model! some Dodges, Chrysler PT Cruiser is often seen. Focus is widespread, back to Fords...
Common? there are likely fifty brands seen, so are Volkswagens in USA common? Yes, are they dominant, NO! to a degree, yes, they are common. But Chevy Lanos (Daewoo), Chevy Aveo (Daewoo) Lacetti (??) are renameplated Korean cars.
Very few of these are actually 'American'.
Volkswagen and Mercedes-Benz are German.
Lambourghini is Italian.
Aside from Ford and Chevy, I think the others are Korean and/or Japanese.
Most of the cars you named are not American. Except Ford. I drive Ford, btw. So far it's quite good.
Nowadays most of the cars sold in Russia are assembled in Russia, except the very top brands, expensive by default, like Mercedes, BMW, Lexus and so on - they are popular despite the high prices. Due to the protectionist tariffs its cheaper to assemble cars here than to import.
There are a lot of brands too starting with some Chinese, like Great Wall, and ending with high-end european stuff, like Bugatti. Some kinds of cars are rare here, e.g. the American muscle cars that became classic, like Dodge are very rare.
Oh, and for the list of brands you can refer to e.g. wikipedia:

Gracias? President Mendevdev?...AMERICAN CARS:Honda honda, volkswagen, mitsubishi. mercedes benz, hyundai, lamborghini?!
It's a madhouse!
