It's not particularly a Rich place no . Cost of living is much lower in the north east of England compared to anywhere else therefore wages are some of the lowest in the UK .Each city has its good and bad parts so obviously somewhere in Sunderland there will be what would be considered rich I suppose but it's not the first place that springs to mind for 'richness'

I worked with a bloke from Sunderland. He joked that when he drove home, his neighbours thought he was the Rent Man because he had a car!
yes, there are 4 rich people in sunderland, dave pete john and darren, they all own cars and a mobile phone, sometimes if you are lucky, you will see them driving by in their automobile talking on their fancy mobile phones and getting bjs by the local hotties cos they got all the cash.
England is full of broke *** people. Lots of Debt, lots of stuff, no money.
Sunderland is not rich, otherwise the Geordies would invade and burn the place to the ground.
