Backpacking around Europe?

Posted at: 2015-06-30
In December I'll be travelling around Europe (solo) for around 7 weeks at least. I have a basic itinerary sorted out which looks like

London 3 days

Munich 4 days

Berlin 4 Days

Copenhagen 2 days

Brussels 2 days

Paris 3 days

Nice 2 days

Vienna 3 days

Barcelona 2 days

Madrid 2 days

Zurich 3 days

Zermatt 3 days

Naples 3 days

Florence 2 days

Rome 3 days

All of this excludes travel time, and just time spent in the actual city.

Is there anywhere I should add or remove, if so why?

Money is not an issue

As has been previously mentioned December/January really isn't the best time of the year to travel. Nevertheless, I think you're spending too much time in places that really aren't worth all that time and too little time in places that deserve more time. I think you shouldn't spend so much time in Switzerland (especially Zermatt) unless you plan on skiing for a couple of days; you could spend a day in Zermatt and two in Geneva for example. You might want to go to Liechtenstein too.

That's ambitious for December/January when you can expect bad weather. It's also not a very efficient order to see places in. You have a lot of travel days scheduled. I'd probably pick places that are closer together and plan day trips from a few bases.

If you plan to stay in hostels or budget hotels check them out before you go. A lot of hostels and hotels close over the winter season.

Three days in Zermatt ? If you dont go ski, it seems a bit Long.

Too many destinations. Too little time in bigger cities.
