there are so many hotels/pensions here in barcelona. though i would recommend you give www.airbnb.com a try. there are many rooms close to placa espanya and it is much cheaper :)
Go to websites that have to do with your question, and find out what would be the cheapest and efficient way to go.
I have to go to Barcelona unexpectedly next week and am looking for a good pension, ideally under 60 euro/night with private bath. It can be anywhere central as long as it has good Metro or bus links to Placa Espanya as I will need to catch and FGC train from there the following morning
