Best Balearic Island for couple in mid thirties?

I agree with 'naanange' that Menorca would be your best bet.

It is full of interesting places, super beaches and coves to visit and wonderful people and food.

What is especially interesting is the period of history when Menorca was 'British' - one may see many examples of British architecture, especially near Mahon, including superb villas (Nelson's, Hood's etc)

Barracks and Municipal Buildings.

We were also told a local legend, anecdote or what about Mayonaise being invented in Mahon!

It is a super place - give it a try and I can assure you that you will enjoy your holiday!

I have been to all of mainland Spain and Canaries and have been to several area of Balearic's and find Alcudia in Majorca is the best and going back this July. I have been to Menorca but found it more for the relaxing very mature people or families with young children. Alcudia is a family resort with family and adult entertainment, the only section I would avoid is the Bellevue Complex as the food is terrible and entertainment not very good - we are both over 50 years old, Good Luck

Menorca. Lovely green island. Lot of lovely beaches some hidden away but hire a car as main road goes right through the island - you just need to go L or R to find treasures. Look up the island - Arenal del Castell in the North is good but so are Son Bou/Cala Galdana. Enjoy

I recommend you Menorca. I think it's perfect and has a lot of nice beaches. In my opinion, it's very well preserved. In Mahón and Ciutadella you have a lot of good bars and restaurants. You can also go on a boat with a local: http://www.trip4real.com/experience/a-da...

You wont find better than soller majorca. Good bars and excellent restaurants. Its split in two. A port and town connected by an old tram.. I go there at least 10 times a year.

I would say Menorca or Formentera (really quite, but amazing scenery), never been there, but looking forward visiting next summer ;)

We usually go to mainland spain or the canary islands but are considering giving the Balearics a try this July so I'm hoping that someone can advise which island and/or resort would be a good idea for a married couple in our mid thirties?

We do like a nightlife but this consists of nice bars and restaurants as opposed to nightclubs, (been there, done that in our twenties in Greece)!

So, we're wondering which towns and which island to look into that has a quieter nightlife away from the 18-30's groups with plenty of nice bars and restaurants and also preferably more unspoilt and near some nice beaches? any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
