You don't need a waterpark for a 2yr old.
You need a nice hotel with a lovely pool. Close access to the beach is useful too. I'd go to Majorca/Ibiza or spanish coast as only a 2-3hr flight. If you choose an All Inclusive kids resort from First Choice it will be packed with kids, you may be better at a regular hotel with kids pool/facilities etc.
Salou or Palma nova in Majorca
Both have aqua parks nearby
Salou has Portaventura and Majorca has a safari type park as well as an Aqua park
Remember the hotels all having swimming pools

One of best water park in Spain is Aquopolis. You have these water park in Madrid (2), Alicante, Valencia, Seville, Huelva...
There's also great water park in Benidorm that is in Alicante. In Alicante there's also sun, and great beaches, so I think you can go there. In Benidorm you've got Aqualandia (water park), Mundomar, Terra Natura, Aqua Natura. (these ones are different kind of zoo) and Terra Mitica ( but i don't think your son will like this one) Here you've got the links:

When my kids were the same age as yours, we went to Menorca and it was great - everything you state you want is there.
Lately, although they are older, we have been to resorts along Costa Almeria and, again, looks really, really good for kids.

My wife and I want to go on holiday to Spain this summer with our 2 year old son. Can anyone recommend a good place to stay. My son loves swimming and animals so a good water park and wildlife park near by would be great.
