If you want a place where you can take lessons, Barcelona comes first to mind. If you just want to live somewhere for a month, Tarragona (the old Roman provincial capital, about an hour south along the coast) looked nice.

I think some of the best towns in Catalonia are:

1. Barcelona (the best one)

2.The Garrotxa

3. Besalu

4. Santa Pau.

Hi there, i am going to be taking a 1 month break in Catalonia with my son, and i am wanting to stay in a town fairly close to the coast, but more so I would like somewhere that speaks primarily Catalan, as i am hoping that we can both learn a little when we are there.

I understand 1 month is little time to learn a language, but hearing it everyday, and everywhere we go is something that will benefit us, therefore i don't really want somewhere that mixes both Catalan and Castellano.

Any tips or advice would be appreciated.
