Favourite things.
The weather is better than in the UK. So you can plan a BBQ and know it will happen. The warm sea, the beaches, the mountains. The Bars life as you call it. The French would call it Café society. Low council tax.
It is a great place for kids. It is so much freer and safer than England.
Political correctness does not exist but you are not allowed to insult people
If you have a good job , life is great.
l have lived expat on 3 continents, including living in the south of Spain.
First off, do you have a job? Because when l visited last summer, it was
so quiet, everywhere, you could hear a pin drop. Nothing is happening
right now, and unemployment among the young is running at over 30%
When we were living there in the mid 00's there was all kinds of construction
and visitors, and lots going on.
We loved living in Spain, and did not live in a bar. Many people in the UK
also live in a bar, from what l have seen, so l discount that totally. There
are many things to do that don't involve drinking, from salsa dancing to
painting, hiking to scuba. Just like anywhere, you make your life how
you want to make your life.
You already have family there, so part of your support system would be
built in. l would just wonder how you would sustain yourselves, and make
money.
A young couple...do you have any way to find a job?
Unemployment in Spain is around 20 - 45%, depending on your demographic.
