an i take oatmeal to spain with me? Can i put it in my checked bag or carry on? i do not know if i can get oatmeal for porridge there.

I don't think that they would have a problem with you taking oatmeal, but they might have a concern about the amount that you are carrying with you.

Fact: US/UK english. I import rough ground oat meal for making oatcakes or for dipping sardines in before frying.

It is Rolled oats aka porridge oats which is usually called 'oatmeal' in North America. It is readily available in Spain. (Gachas de avena). I have never seen very rough ground oats here, even in health food shops.

Yes, but WHY? They sell oatmeal in Spain. It's called "Avena".
