Can she Live in Amsterdam?

Posted at: 2015-06-30
My cousin is 14, and she told me that she wants to make a life in Amsterdam on the future. I don't think she can live in Amsterdam because it is too far, and It is not safe for her. If she makes a life in Amsterdam I will miss her a lot...... I really don't want her to live in Amsterdam

I just wanna know if there is rules of living in Amsterdam, because she is not from Amsterdam, she's from Mexico. I want to convince her to stay with me in the US and not in Amsterdam

How do I convince her to live in LA with me??

I don't want her to leave me, and make a life in Amsterdam......

Plus, I know that she will maybe not be able to go to Amsterdam, but if in some case she does go to Amsterdam, how can I convince her to not go??

If she's not an EU national, she won't be moving to Amsterdam or any other EU country anytime soon.

The sad fact is that she would probably be a LOT safer in Amsterdam than anyplace in the US.

And she can forget about 'moving' anywhere outside of the US before she's 18. Not going to happen unless she's with her parents.

It will be many years before your cousin can even think of moving to Amsterdam. To do so she will need to be an adult, and have really good school, and work qualifications that allow her to apply for a job there. And she will need to get a job before she can get a Work Visa.

But, regardless of where your cousin wants to go, you have no right to stop her. This is her life and she has the right to decide what to do with it. To stop her from doing anything is extremely selfish of you.

EDIT: You cousin cannot possibly have a visa that allows her to move to another country in a few years time, or when she feels like it. No visa like this exists.

She can't go live in Amsterdam, because she cannot get a visa to live there permanently. She cannot support herself because she won't be able to work legally, Even if she manages to get there (how can she pay for a ticket? how can she get a passport?), at best she will get a 90-day visitor's visa. More likely, any 14-year-old showing up at Amsterdam airport will say something revealing to the immigration agent, and will get put on the next flight home.

Why isn't it safe?
