Can it be called a mini scotland.
I really hope it's like scotland
Durham is very beautiful but built on VERY steep hills - the university is very good and students have a good life there with lots of activities and pass times on offer. My niece went there as a mature student and really enjoyed it, I visited her a couple of times and found the place felt really welcoming and sort of homely, people are friendly but not in your face and it just felt relaxed and happy. Hope that helps, it is a very personal view I know
Durham is lovely but the streets are really, really steep. The countryside is pretty hilly too. But there's plenty of scope for outdoor pursuits, and it's not far from SCOTLAND!
very beautiful, old city, hills like the durham dales and north york moors are an hours drive away but really spectacular.
