? 'm not turk but When i heard this ,i got suprized ,what do u think about that?
Well, The Ottoman Empire, or Turks, whatever you choose to call, fought mainly with the Brits (Commonwealth is a better saying since many of their soldiers were from Australia or New Zealand, called the Anzacs) partially with Russia (who later turned to be a secret ally of the Turks after the communist revolution in 1917) and lost the war.
After the war was lost and the Armistice of Mudros and finally the Sevres Treaty were signed by the Ottoman Empire, the Turkish National Movement refused them and started the War of Independence. This war was mainly fought with the Greeks who, with a little push from the Brits :) , have already invaded Western Anatolia. This is the war that the Turks won.
Sorry to say, that's not true.
Firstly, it wasn't 'Turkey', it was the Ottoman Empire.
Secondly, the Ottomans were on the side of the so called Central Powers, and they actually lost the war. So it is categorically wrong to say that they won.
Thirdly, although there were some individual battles which the Central Powers won and where the Ottoman forces were in a dominant role, it's not really fair to say that they alone won the battle, because they weren't in most cases fighting alone. For example, in the Gallipoli Campaign aka. the Battle of ?anakkale (which may be what you're referring to), the Ottomans certainly did very well, but they were supported by the forces of Imperial Germany and Austria-Hungary.
Keep studying history, it's a very worthwhile subject. Just make sure you get your facts straight, because as Einstein famously said, "a little knowledge is a dangerous thing".
Well, actually Ottomans (formerly Turkey) collapsed after World War I. Ottoman Empire lost their lands during war.
For example, Palestine was under Ottoman Empire rule until Britain occupied it in the WW1.
