Do spanish men flirt with girls in street?

LOL at some of the answers you got. They are a good giveaway of the age of those who reply!

If you're young and good looking, yes, some will try, but in general the most daring ones are obviously the more desperate ones.

As for piropos, which IS the same as compliments, even if some Scottish old maid insists they're not, yes, they they are common, again if you're young and good looking. Some say nice things, others are vulgar and insulting (not in their opinion), sad but true and common (again if you're good looking).

Older men do it more, the younger ones normally look at you and smile but won't say much, which is much more polite. That applies to Spaniards, however younger immigrants (Northern Africa, Latin America) are a lot more vocal, and many times as vulgar as their older Spanish counterparts. Other times they are just cheesy beyond belief.

So if someone says something to you, don't smile back it might be a compliment or something extremely vulgar. An ice cold look will do.

Not here in Barcelona. Here it is like anywhere else.

Piropos are dying out even in the south but are quite normal during the Ferias and Carnival. Spain has become boring ...

As to piropos being domination. I do not agree. They were common in the days of due?as, serrenos, grises and Paco, when life was more regimented and repressed than it is now. Now the young girls hunt in packs.

Not so much.

I think, what you are referring to is Piropeando.

It's something that older men still do, younger men don't so much. It's most typical in Andalucía, and it's slowly being phased out.

It's not FLIRTING, at all, it's about having control over women.

Yess! They are very open & not afraid to tell you how they feel, but if you reject them alot of the hot tempered ones with have a snide comeback.

Biased question. And racist question. And incorrect grammar.
