Hi we are going in September this year go twice a year, right get a bus from edge of old town number 10 it cost 1.45 euro each to Altea market town on Tuesdays go early. we don't eat out we are full board, if you want a good pint and a game of bingo go to Buddies ask anyone they will know it. have a good holiday. also Wednesday and Sunday open markets end of Lavante beach near our hotel Helios.
The Old town is excellent, just wander into the back streets and look for the restaurants full of old Spaniards. We found one owned by two old ladies who took great pride in showing how to make proper Sangria and local dishes.
there are loads of great places to visit nearby benidorm such as calpe with its famous rock and old streets, vibrant and bustling alicante which has one of the biggest castles in spain and a fantastic esplanada, villajoyosa is beautiful with different coloured buildings, narrow streets and lots of good resturants along the beach.
Tapas Alley in Old Town. http://benidorm.hpage.com for info on things to do.
Don't have to speak a word of Spanish because everyone speaks English
My partner and I are holidaying in Benidorm this year. We went last year but I felt that we didn't do much exploring at all as our hotel was all inclusive so there wasn't really a reason to wander about! This year we are staying half board, right on the edge of the Old Town and about 300m from Levante Beach. Can anyone recommend any good places for proper tapas or any places worth visiting? Any really good restaurants? Thanks!
