Costa del Sol of course, take a look:

This classic Spanish City has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO

Salamanca University was the first to be founded in Spain and is also one of the oldest in Europe . It was once regarded as one of the best European universities and was attended by some of the greatest and most famous Spanish thinkers, artists and writers.

Salamanca it is said was the birth place of the Spanish language with the production of the first Grammar of the Castilian Language in the 15th century, which became the template and reason for its ability to spread over the world.

Salamanca is the cross roads of The Vía de la Plata, the old Roman route that links the north and south of Spain, So for the tourist Salamanca is a good base to explore interesting towns and villages nearby, that are also on the path of this ancient road, such as Guijuelo and Béjar

Costa Blanca has one of the finest stretches of Mediterranean coastline in Spain - there are holiday villas and apartments in many stylish and exclusive resorts to suit any budget. There are many superb locations such as Javea, Moraira, Calpe, Alicante, Villamartin, La Mata and Torrevieja. Venture a few Kilometres from the beach and you find a whole range of golf resorts to tempt a golfer of any level.

What, exactly, are you looking for?

People are giving you names of cities, with no reasons for why the might make a great holiday, others give you an entire coast (with tons of different towns, with different personalities).

If you aren't looking for a beach, there's an entire inland country with tons of different activities, history, winemaking, cuisine, hiking, biking, etc., etc.,etc.

What do YOU want out of your vacation?

N.B. Salamanca is only ONE of MANY UNESCO historic cities. If you're interested in that, just search UNESCO...and go from there.

The obvious choice is Barcelona - but I'd really recommend San Sebastian near the French border. The beach is great, the tapas are delicious and - if you're up for it - it has a pretty cool bar scene.

I would say the big cities (Madrid, Seville, Barcelona...). I went to Seville and it was absolutely extraordinary!!!!!!!!!

On the coast, I would say Matalascana or Cadiz. Cadiz is like the Florida of Spain...it's a popular vacation spot and is really gorgeous and has a lot to offer.
