Greece or Costa Rica?

Hi,

I'm at 18 year old high school senior, and I'm looking to travel over the summer. I've saved up money and know the tour company i want to use, which specializes in my age group.

I've narrowed it down to two different tours, and I'm looking for advice on which one I should partake in.

The first is to Greece and the Greek islands, with days in Athens, Mykonos, Santorini, and Ios. I've heard the nightlife in the islands is amazing, if not rowdy. I'm not much of a partier but it's something I'd like to experience.

The second is to Costa Rica, and it's more of an adventure tour - kayaking, horse back riding, white water rafting. I'm very adventurous so it seems like a good fit, and I've never been anywhere remotely tropical.

Reminders that both are around equal is cost, and that I'll be travelling myself (which a tour group of people my age)

There are some factors to look after before you can choose between Greece or Costa Rica. And your current living of country is important also. From your question, it seems that your first choice is Greece. Yes you heard it right that the nightlife in the islands is amazing in in Athens, Mykonos, Santorini, and Ios. And if you want to taste it, you have visit Greece.

I have been to both, and I would choose Costa Rica, especially if you know Spanish. (Most Greeks who work with tourists know sufficient English, though.) The main draw for Greece is archaeology, and you don't mention that as an appeal. You will have plenty of opportunities to get drunk when you're old enough to know what you're doing and not alone. Santorini has amazing landscapes, but the nightlife wasn't particularly vast.

If you are from the States the most convinient would be to go to Greece on account of the distance and the ever inceasing cost of flying. Of course the places you will visit are more than nightlife and they are an experience that will be with you for life.

On the other hand, if you from Europe, Costa Rica again for the cost reason to get there is the best option.

In whatever case, your personal interests will be the decisive factor. Personally I would take the farthest destination.

Go with your personal preference, what your gut tells you. If it helps, imagine which would be the better experience to share with friends via stories, pictures, and videos when you get back.

My personal preference between the two would be for Greece, but that's because I lived in a tropical country, vacation in Southern California every few years, and actually worked in another tropical country for a few months.

Go with your first instinct.

any of them , go to Majorca spain
