Fact: Scottish notes are NOT legal tender. But they are Legal currency. So you can use them - by law.
Legal tender is a term usually used in total ignorance of what it means.
The credit cards can also be used outwith Scotland.

In the UK bank notes from Scottish banks are all legal tender and are accepted in all retail and business situations. Debit / credit cards are all designed to be used internationally so there will be no problem

They took my American Credit Card when I went 2 yrs ago so your Scottish one should be fine
