Help with getting to Snowdonia in Wales?

Posted at: 2015-06-30
Me and my friends are planning to climb Mt. Snowdon by the Llanberis route so I need to find out how to get there.

Can someone please explain how we can get to the Llanberis path from London.

Thank you!

Take a Virgin Train from London Euston to Bangor Station (North Wales) and then an 85 bus.

The cheapest rail tickets are those booked well in advance for specifically timed trains. Booking opens 11 weeks ahead of your journey. www.virgintrains.co.uk or the ticket office at Euston Station

For local bus information in Snowdonia go to www.traveline.info

Start off by looking at an online map site and see where Snowdonia is in comparison to London then decide which form of transport you are going to use. Please remember that this is a real mountain, the weather can change very rapidly and unexpectedly, I've been on Snowdon on August Bank Holiday Monday and seen snow. So you need to be prepared for everything. Don't even think about it unless you have proper mountain clothing, proper climbing footwear and good maps. There are lots of people every year who have to be rescued by the local mountain rescue team, don't be their next rescue.

There is no direct rail link to Mt Snowdon, so enquire at Snowdonia National Park via internet o best transport links..

Do bear in mind you require quite a bit of gear, plus weather conditions change rapidly summer and winter.
