However, as I look at at all the amazing locations in Europe we could go, the more I start to question if Scotland is the best choice. I have already been to several countries in Europe, but my fiancé has not. I really want him to have the best experience possible. I would LOVE to visit Scotland! Then I consider that he has never seen Paris or London or Rome..
So I'm just wondering.. If you were to plan a honeymoon in Europe, where would you go?
It can be very hard to narrow down the choices. However, you don't have to be limited to one country. How many days will you have? It's possible to do a few days in London, take the 4 hour train to Scotland and spend some time there, then take the train over to France and visit Paris. I wouldn't try to do more than that unless you have more than 2 weeks, but those 3 are very doable in a short time frame. Plan another trip in the future to do Italy.
You should check out Lake Bled and the whole NW part of Slovenia. There is a place above Soca valley called Nebesa, which means Heaven and it's heaven indeed. Perfect for honeymoon. If you don't mind the absence of bigger cities then I really recommend Slovenia. It's the only country with "love" in its name. Ljubljana is a very romantic city and means "beloved". A true honeymoon destination.
The very "in" place for honeymooners currently it is considered to be Santorini in Greece. People from all over the world come and get married there , but also spend their honeymoon too.
Depending the time you want to go on your honeymoon it will be ideal if it were not during winter as it tends to be kind of quiet. Very few visitors then.
Anyway, the island can be combined with other island or islands and of course with Athens.
It kind of depends on what you want to do. You could take two weeks and spend it in lavish hotels with fancy swimming pools and what have you, or you could take four weeks and stay in cheap and cheerful budget accommodation and travel between cities and countries by train. (Personally I'd go for the second option because you'd see more, but it's really up to you two.)
I would go to Rhodes in Greece.
No problem.
there you walk in history, ancient times, medieval times, moderne times.
and - it's much cheaper than Scotland.
You might want to look at : Bavaria: castles on the web.
