People in Amsterdam are traditionally very kind to every outsider. Not that they're heartwarming or anything, the reason is purely pragmatical - it's good for business and always has been. The Dutch are traders. Regardless of who or what you are, you can do whatever you want in Amsterdam and they'll let you do it. It's good for business.
I'd be more worried about the fellow immigrants. That's where the problems are more likely to arise.
There are several hundred thousand foreigners living, studying and working in NL. Relax, you'll be fine.
Oh, and the people of the Netherlands are Dutch, not Hollanders. People from provinces other than the Hollands (there are two within the country) might not appreciate being called 'Hollanders'. Just a tip! :-)
Amsterdam is one of the most friendliest cities in the world, welcoming all to its shores. You'll feel very much at home there.
I've been there a few times and never felt out of place.
Netherlands, especially Amsterdam & Rotterdam & also Utrecht have a very mix-culture. There are different cultures there.
You're going to fit right in, don't worry.
There's racism everywhere, there's racism to white people in your country.
Amsterdam is a very international city, as soon as you learn to get over the shyness and overly polite attitude some indians have you;ll be fine.
The tourist areas are very fluent in English, though I think it is higher than that. The NL was a seafaring nation, often going to Asian and Pacific countries to obtain spices. So there is a very prominent Asian community there. You can find any type of restaurant since they are very international.
