Kill everyone who comes before you, the lethal pathogen anonymous suggests would work. You're not gonna be able to coerce current royal family, not only do they have their fair share of royal scandals (King Albert is getting sued by his supposed illegitimate daughter at this moment), they also have a lot of money and many friends in the Belgian government and security services. If you get too annoying or even dangerous, you'll probably be eliminated before you can say "King of the Belgians". If you could force the current king to abdicate, you'd still need many connections government, since the government has pretty tight control over every action the monarch undertakes (after all according to the constitution the government is responsible for everything the king does, he himself is not).
Also the monarchy is popular (unlike the government), you won't be able to seize power by a coup. Lets suppose now you manage to overthrow the king and install yourself on the throne of Laeken. great, you can't be sued anymore, but: you'll still be an outsider who is essentially an usurper. You broke the constitution, suppose you installed a new government loyal to you and get some popular support you'll still have to appease the EU, NATO and the UN. The first two have their headquarters in Brussels, many people in government will blame you if your coup causes them to leave. You'll have made Belgium quite unsafe and poorer.
And even that lethal pathogen will cast all suspicion to you, since there will be an investigation. In Belgium you're only the King after you've gone to parliament and spoke the oath. Before that you're still a normal citizen.
In short being 75th in Line to the Belgian throne is something you'll have to deal with your entire life. Unless Elisabeth gets a child while her dad is still in power, in which case you'll be lowered a step. No, your family branched off way too soon.
Unless... you need to marry the Duchess of Brabant Elisabeth. Then you'll be king consort. Strangely enough, this is the most realistic plan you can have. Why didn't I think of this one first?
I don't know but if you find the answer then please let us know.
My friend's husband is number 110 for the throne of Iran.
My son seems to think he has a claim on lands in Hungary, he isn't alone with that fantasy.
Even my father who was born in a tiny mountain village in SE Poland used to say he had inherited lands and a title of mayor of the village.
He actually did have some papers to back up his claim. Totally useless papers because the country turned communist.
i do remember my step-mother did some housecleaning and tossed out his paperwork. He was already in his mid 60's and Poland was still in the eastern block. My dad was upset for months about her throwing them out.
Maybe I could make a claim in my father's place? The village still has only 150 people living there but it could be a start to world domination for me!
You're 75 on the list. Not going to happen. But I'll watch the news.
Dear Nico, you lack proper education -
There are NO "kings of Belgium" -
The proper title is "king of the Belgians" -
The lack of adequate knowledge relegates you to 500th in line for the title -

Sipper 747, you are damn right. So much bullshit is being said about our country, it's about time we put a compulsory test on incoming foreigners, especially the Yanks.
You could introduce some kind of lethal pathogen.
