Join the British Army and make sure you get into one of the Guards Regiments. At present, Guards Regiments have a minimum height requirement of 6' which is taller than non-Guards regiments.
All Guards are regular soldiers and get rotated into combat postings on a regular basis. They're certainly not just ornamental.
