I quite like this question because the essence of it is - 'how do I get a job and how do I immediately get time off from said job?' Wouldn't it be better to just wait until after you return from holiday, considering Christmas is only three weeks away?
In answer to your question though, just go and ask at a newsagent.
Contact the local newsagent, and put your name on the list. You may have to wait till he has a vacancy. Expect to work for a while before you take time off - so don't even consider starting before Christmas if you then want to go away.
Ask at a newsagent if they need a rounds person, mornings nights or Sundays
