How is Russia remembering WW1?

The government started forcing this topic some time ago, but no one cares about it as far as I can see. The October revolution and the civil war that followed the WW1 have always been much more "hot" topics.

On TV they showed a lot of documentaries about WWI. In the day of the beginning there were some official events with president taking part where they commemorated memory of those who died those years.

They also showed on TV in news reports from other countries with similar events.

In general it is not very popular topic (it goes from USSR times, when participation in wwi was considered a sensless mistake of monarchs of Russian empire, and was pretty much "forgotten") but media companies nowadays started to "promote" it, making documentaries etc...

They still have their memorials, but to most the revolution is more remembered than the war
