At 17 you do not have 'considerable experience' - being a nanny and babysitting are two different things.
Its up to you and your employer.to work out
I doubt if anyone is going to pay a 17 year old with "considerable" experience, the same as a 30 year old with references and a past history with families.
I know people (friends of mine) paying £500+ per week, with a car thrown in and the nanny goes on all the family holidays.
I live in Surrey,
Go talk to the (many) nanny agencies
Nannying is a profession, and is highly paid and sought after..
and the nanny calls the shots on pay and conditions.
So don't sell yourself short.
own car (not borrowing one), etc is not unknown
and technically you are now employed - so all the employer legislation now applys
- pensions
- time off
- working hours
- minimum wage
- Their employer Liability insurance (make sure you see it)
or you and they will be breaking the law.
If you only have one employer, you will not get HMRC to see you as an independant business
(which you would then have to be a company / have your own liability insurance etc etc)

You can ask for what you want, however at 17yrs old you have zero real experience, no DBS in place and minimum wage for your age is £3.79... however good luck hope you get what you want, you can always be confident and ask the worse they can say is thank you but no thank you
Is it live-in or live-out? How many hours a week are you working? Are you only watching the children or are you supposed to cook and clean as well?
Whatever the market will bear, and 10% more if the nanny is dependable.
