How often do you go into Central London?

For people who live in the suburbs of London etc, how often do you actually go to places like Oxford Street etc?

My mum lived in Dagenham which is a good hour away from central London on the district line. She would go into London daily because she worked for solicitors. However on weekends, she would go to nearby Romford or somewhere to do shopping. Central London is for workers and tourists, it's not your everyday city where people from all round go to every saturday to get some clobber.

I suppose I go into central London (not Oxford Street, though) about 20-30 times a year for various reasons such as exhibitions and meetings with friends. I very rarely shop in the centre of London, unless you count Kensington High Street and Notting Hill Gate, which are two of my nearer shopping areas.

When I lived in London, I would only go a couple of times a year when i couldn't find what I wanted in local shopping centres. I worked in the West End so at weekends and holidays, the last thing I wanted was to be stuck in crowds. Places like Wood Green and Stratford I would go to much more often.

When I lived in SE London, I would go to West End plays about once a month.

Almost never. When I was a civil servant and had a central London office, of course it was 5 times a week, but not any more.

I live in Surrey about 40 miles from London and I usually take the train into London 2 or 3 times per month, although I live in Shropshire during part of the year. I obviously don't do it from there

Apart from Selfridges Oxford Street is for the tourists. Apart from the theatre there is nothing that I would make a trip into the West End for and most of the time I would go during the week after work rather than at weekends.

About once a month; usually to go sightseeing or go on photography missions.

5 tym a year
