I'm nervous about moving to Russia?

Posted at: 2015-06-30
I'm going for a postgraduate program in university, and I'll still learn Russian when I go there as a part of the program so I basically know zero Russian. So will it be hard to make friends there? I'm half Mexican/half Arab, and I read that Russians are not very friendly with foreigners. Is that true? Are there many foreigners living in Russia? I'm just very nervous lol, so anything will be helpful. Thank you :)

Just be yourself and friendship will find your and the less city, where you will, the faster it will.

By the way, sincerity is root of any friendship anywhere, isn't only in Russia.

And don't worry for language, sometimes, to explain on the fingers is easy then in foreign language.

With that heritage / no offense intended , it might be kind of difficult unless you do learn to speak some of their language . As for friendly you're right they're pretty stuck up that's why they are moving here to the states and taking all our Jobs .

People are friendly. Good luck with Russian: not an easy language to learn.

Why would anyone wanna go over there for??? What's over there???

Everybody knows, Russians are racist! Don't go over there!

Hopefully you don't look Arab, because Russians are very against Arabs. And yes, most Russians are against foreigners, but not all.

As long as you're the opposite of "Jampo aka Rocker 2013" you should be fine.

You hardly find proper speakers for it indeed. I can a few days walk accross Moscow for it. You must have very warm closes.
