I'm a Kurdish girl and In recent years ive found out that Turkish people hate kurds like the majority of you hate us because you associate us with this stupid terrorist group pkk, I support no terrorist groups and I feel ashamed that my own people would do that. I want to go on holiday there soon but im scared of admitting I'm kurdish I don't want Turkish people to hate me. Us kurds are really nice people but ignorance can lead to misconception. should I go? Do Turks think of kurds as brothers? Idk, I really like Turkey but others are shoving it in my face that I'm hated :( some said they won't tell I'm Kurdish because I'm blue eyed and light headed but that's stupid. I would like some factual statements from Turkish fellows:)

Believe me you dont have to be scared..Dont believe everything u saw in media..Come istanbul and see yourself Turks and Kurds live in harmony and in peace no one of them hate each other or in any west city..Like you said PKK is one terrorist organization which has killed 30.000 civil people not only Turks killed by PKK,there also Kurdish people killed by PKK..

And almost every Kurdish family has a Turkish son in law or every Turkish family has one Kurdish son in law..We all mixed.Nobody care if you are Turk or Kurd or Greek or German or Laz

We are not hating Kurds we hate PKK but we don't think PKK represents Kurds. There are Kurds in every city I have Kurdish friends don't be afraid to come here. Eastern and Southeastern Anatolia has a great culture and food you should visit there!

If you dont support terrorist groups, you dont scare. Million of kurds living turkey and we have any problem kurdish language etc.

the real problem; kurdish people are very low educating. Many crimes in turkey, processed by the Kurds. (mafia, drugs etc.)

some racist assholes may scared you but don't worry. i really dont think no one is going to ask you that. i dont even know what my friends are (well they are human i am sure about that :D and yes they are still alive)

even if people would ask you what you are (which sound awkward to me so i dont ask) you can just say "im kurd" and they will be like "ok" thats all.

some wierdo may ask if you are related to pkk or something thats all. i really don't think anyone would attack you for being kurd since there is a lot of kurds already lives in turkey (i just know or assume this from their language).

plus there is police, and people in turkey are not all dick if someone attack you for being kurd that person probably will face angry crowd in few min..

Kurdish people are everywhere in Turkey.Truksih are hating just who is supporting pkk.Almost every Turkish has a Kurdish friend.

You have every right to be afraid between the ultra Turkish nationalists and the Turkish ISIS terrorists you are doomed..

No totally disagree with you, in this point racism is a big problem for modern world. You can see racism anywhere. That ethnic racists groups sees enemy each other in Turkey, beside this, normal citizens like me behaving nicely.

You are confused. The Turks are only against whoever are against themselves. One being Kurdish, French or German could mean less to us.
