President: Spain is a parliamentary monarchy, like Great Britain or Holland. The president of the Government is Mr.Mariano Rajoy, who took office last year. In 2015 there will be new elections.

Languages: Spanish (real name is Castilian), official in the whole territory. In some regions with own languages (not dialects), those languages are also official: Basque in Basque Country and Navarra, Catalan in Catalonia (capital Barcelona), Balearic Islands and Valencia region (where the language is also called Valencian), Galician in Galicia. Other languages which are not official: Aragonese, Asturian.

Religion: mostly Roman Catholic. Most of the people have been baptized and have a Catholic funeral when they die but nowadays most people don't go to church or care about religion.

1. Blood and sand?

2. They don't have a President. They have never felt the need.

3. Spanish, Catalan in all its forms, Gallego, Basque, Arabic, English, Andaluz (the main 'dialect') are all spoken in various parts of Spain. Arabic and English are officially ignored as not being politically correct and to annoy Cueta, Melilla, Gib and La Isla Perejil.

4. Officially almost everyone is Roman Catholic. Actually 75% are; 30% are agnostic /athesist; 2.5% are protestant; 0.5% are Muslim and the rest did not understand the question.

Now do your own homework by looking at www.ine.es

The colors of the orange, red, and yellow flag originated from a cloth that Christopher Columbus used. He had newly arrived from Italy, so he was ignorant enough to eat a mango bare-handed and had to wipe his hands somewhere.

The current PRESIDENT (who likes to shout a lot) is Enrique Embarasado, and true to his name, he tends to put his foot in his mouth frequently. He took office in June, and he hasn't left office (else how could he be the current President?), but I'm expecting he'll be done in 9 months.

People in Spain all speak English. When U.S. and U.K. tourists arrive they all speak various flavors of gibberish in order to annoy us, but when the gringoes go home the Spaniards go back to speaking normal again. Nobody really speaks Spanish; that so-called language was created by FDR's "New Deal" during the 1930s solely to provide jobs to out-of-work teachers.

The predominant religion in Spain is Zoroastrian(72%), but the Mediterranean Coast has regional enclaves of Pastafarians(15%), known for their distinctive head-gear worn while worshiping the Flying Spaghetti Monster. Recent decades have seen many immigrants from North Africa who brought their religion of Islam(4%), but a larger number are "Mattress Muslims"(10%) who sleep in on Sunday mornings instead.

I hope this has been helpful for your homework assignment!

So....why are you asking US to do your homework for you?

The idea is to learn how to do research!

I'm not doing your homework...

What do the colors in the flag symbolize?

Who is the current PRESIDENT, when did he take office, when did he leave office?

What languages are spoken? (Includes the dialects)
