Some people in the Czech Republic might be xenophobic, but I can't say I met anyone who didn't like me based on the fact that I came from another country on either of my two visits to the Czech Republic. I had a great time, and found people very welcoming.

If you are going outside of the main cities, it's helpful to have German and/or Russian instead of English.

The Czech Republic is definitely the most liberal, tolerant and welcoming of all the former Eastern bloc countries. Also, statistically, it hosts the biggest number of immigrants compared to other 'Eastern European' countries.

I think Czechs and Slovaks have some Nationalistic Parties in each of their lands..these Parties are rising...

nah, i think they are more than used to having people around getting drunk in Prague :)
