Is Denmark a communist country?

No.

Denmark is a mixed market CAPITALIST economy with a large welfare state and a strong cooperation between public and private sector. Although the financial crisis has had a negative impact, Denmark is one of the most competitive economies in the world and has been ranked as one the best place to do business in the world.

A Kommune is a decentralized administrative unit which receives subsidies (blok tilskud) from state and income taxes. The kommune is responsible for public schools, elder and child care, employment, environment, energy etc within the respective kommune. It has nothing to do with communism, a kommune is what other countries call a council. Kommuner have been around since the medieval ages way before Karl Marx and Lenin.

Depending on their job the majority of people have enough income after taxes to buy house, pay rents, buy cars, food, go on vacation several times a year, buy clothes, eat out and fulfil their needs and wants.

I don't know where you got this from but people CAN choose their own insurance companies, and you can choose between private and public hospitals.

Do not ask any Dane to get another political system in their nation -

Danes are very happy with the way their nation is -

Standard of living much higher than North America -

Socialism is NOT the same as communism -

However in the USA they confuse both (lack of education and knowledge) -

No, it's a democracy / capitalist country, somewhat more socialistic than US, UK, Germany and one of the highest standards of living in the world (higher than the US).

From my understanding I thought that Denmark was a socialist country.

No, more socialist than communist, and most definitely a democracy.

No, it is a democratic monarchy.
