The amount of people thinking of Spain + islands or the Greece + islands I can't believe with all the news on the tele about unemployment in these countries and with the language barrier you have no chance, if you try it make sure you have the air fare home before you leave
Yes, there are places you can work in Spain and not speak the language, but all you will get is your board and lodging. You won't get paid but you'll be able to earn your keep and learn the language.
I know youngsters doing this in Spain. It is a great experience for them, but you have to be prepared to live a frugal life albeit a good one.
Nope.
Unemployment in Spain is at 20 - 25%. For - 50%. d workers and foreigners: ore like 40 - 50%.
For people who don't speak any Spanish...I'd say even higher...see, people in Spain speak SPANISH (and in Barcelon, Catalán, as well), not English, so how do you think you're going to be able to get along?
If you want to go be a tourist/student, fine.
If you think you're going to find work...don't bother.
How can you work at a Bar or restuarant when you don't speak Spanish?!?
No chance
Me and a friend are moving to Spain (Barcelona) in a few months for one year. Do you think I will be able to find a job when I speak no Spanish at all? Obviously I am going to try to learn, but initially I won't be very good and was just thinking about job opportunities. Things like bar work, restaurants etc.
Any info would be great! Thanks very much
