Like to move to another eu nation?

I'm an irish citizen, and would like to move to somewhere on mainland Europe. I was thinking Denmark or Austria, until I heard how high the taxes are. Now I'm thinking of Czech Republic. Any suggestions? Currently I'm a welder and taking college classes part time in Pennsylvania USA.

Turkey trakya area, and Switzerland

Because so many Irish or UK citizens retire to places like Spain and France, the cost of living must be at least tolerable. I know nothing of workers' taxes, but you could easily find out. Suss out the other EU countries as well, before you make a decision.

Yes, the taxes in Austria are high but the standard of living is much higher than in the Czech Republic. Also the wage level is higher. And it's much easier to learn german than czech.

The problems with countries where the taxes are less high, the incomes are also less high but the cost of living can be quite high, specially for all imports.

I am not sure about the local situation in Czech Republic, but Slovakia one person in a flat pays almost as much for the rent on the flat and the heating costs as he earns, with only a very small amount left for all the rest, including food.

And that is with an university education and a good steady job.

There are a few people who as foreigners earn more, mostly in jobs where they need foreign skills, like teaching English in schools, but welding might be the job for it as well.

Tax is not a reason for not wanting to live somewhere. In Norway the tax is high, but if you get your income from working in Norway your standard of living will be high.

Go work for Skoda.
