Looking to travel to Barcelona...?

i think madrid is better than barcelona. you should see madrid first then barcelona become more meaningful

Rent from £500 a month. Plus a bond or deposit, and maybe agent fees... unless you find a place for 2 months, which might be hard as people dont want the hassle of short term.

Food I would say £100+ a month.

Or you could stay in a hostel and then meet other people too... staff might be able to help out with jobs etc too. I know as a UK resident we don't need a visa for under 90 days, not sure if your allowed to work or not though... might want to look that up.

Good luck.

Right now is not the best time to look for work in Spain. It has 50% unemployment... I suggest you wait a year or two. Oh, and by the way, northern Spain is absolutely beautiful. It is similar to Ireland or Scotland. The Pyrenees... Absolutely breathtaking. My suggestion is if you just go to touristy places you will miss the beauty of Spain. Go on a road trip, drive on the winding mountain roads through small villages. Get lost in the part of Spain that is unseen, the part of Spain that is practically untouched by modernism.

Try the wooffer programme - you won't earn a lot of money, but you will at least have a place to live and a job to do.

Hi,

I'm 21 and I'm looking to travel to Barcelona. I like the look of it and the people, culture, weather, attractions (beach etc), but I don't know where to start.

I want to get out of England few at least 2 months, and do something different as I am currently in a bit of a rut. I was looking to learn a bit of Spanish, and get a temporary job whilst out there (anything like bar work, brochure work would be fine cause I'd only be there temporarily), and just so that I can experience a different culture, meet new people and party in one of Europe's best cities over the summer!

Does anyone know how much money I would need to survive at least 8 weeks, and let me know of any programmes where they set you up with courses or work, as I'd like to be part of a programme which includes young people my age cause otherwise I'm not sure how i'd meet people and I wouldn't like to arrive alone in a strange country and know nobody.

Thanks for your help!
