People in Barcelona speaks Catalan.....
Who cares if you are gay or not...got nothing to do with those cities.
Nobody in Spain cares if you are gay.
If you like art galleries and museums, it has to be Madrid.
Architecture , old buildings and a unique culture, it has to be Barcelona.
Clubbing (and tapas); it is probably better in Madrid.
See the Time Out website on Madrid and Barcelona to help you chose.
I'd say Barcelona. There are some fantastic museums (Picasso and so on), great beaches, beautiful architecture (Sagrada Familia, though it isn't finished yet), and friendly people. No need to worry about speaking Catalan, if you can't speak it. They speak Spanish as well and many people also speak English. You can still have your tapas and so on, but also some great Catalan food. Crema Catalana (their version of Creme Brulee) is the best. I don't think you'll have a problem in either city, because Spain appears to be very open-minded. Enjoy! :)
In Spain you see a lot of gay people walking hand in hand, it is normal there and nobody says anything.
Don't bother. One day isn't enough to see anything.
Stay in France. Go to Spain when you can do it justice.
I am going to be in spain for only one day and i want to either spend it in madrid or barcelona, but cant decide which. can anyone give me an opinion on which is better? i am also gay so which would be more gay friendly?
