I'll be going for a 11 days vacation to Europe next month. It's going to be a (my first) solo trip and I plan to take walking tours and use public transportation mostly.
I will arrive at Vienna and will depart back from Paris. I plan to visit Austria, Czech Republic, Switzerland and then France.
I plan to spend 2 days in Austria and 3 days each in other countries. Can you guys suggest me some cities that are a must-see and cover(able) in these many days.
I plan to visit Vienna and Salzburg in Austria, Prague in Czech Republic. I can change the distribution of days.
This will be an enormous help. Thank you in advance.
By the time you check out of your hotel/hostel, get to the bus/airport/train station, wait, travel to your destination, get to the hotel/hostel there, check-in and drop off your luggage it's a whole day.
If for some reason you MUST visit each of the places on your list then realize you have time to do a one-day "city tour" bus tour in each place and that's about it.

You are trying to visit too many places for an 11 day trip. Realize that each time you move it eats up a whole day, so if you move four times it gives you only seven days. you also cannot count the day you arrive and the day you leave as sightseeing days.
Decide on two places. The "open jaw" ticket is a good idea, and if you choose Vienna & Paris you should fly (get a one-way ticket) between the two cities. For example, fly to Vienna and visit for five days. Fly to Paris (takes the whole day). visit Paris for five days. Fly home from Paris.
Check with your health insurance to find out if it covers you in Europe and pays for medical evacuation to home (should that be necessary). If yes then take proof of coverage with you. If no or not sure then get trip medical insurance, which is cheap and sold by airlines & travel agents. Having travel medical insurance is a requirement to enter some countries (ex. Lithuania & Slovakia). Even if it's not, PLEASE do not skimp on this as an otherwise-silly accident could turn into a crisis if you don't have medical insurance.

Agree it's a bit of a whistlestop tour, so I would travel as light as possible, dragging big bags around cities looking for hostels would waste a lot of time. Maybe just spend most of the time in two countries, Austria and Czech republic (lots of nice small towns/countryside in both countries), and see a bit of Paris on your final day. How are you planning to travel between these places?
Too many places for just 11 days.
too many locations in too little time
SO funny
