I am planning a visit to Europe (Swiss, Paris and Amsterdam) for a vacation. This trip will be around 27th April to 10th May or something like that. The problem is that I had initially planned this trip during the first week of April when it's supposed to be really cold over there and did I shopping on that basis (I bought those thick coats, body warmers, sweaters, etc). But now that the dates are changed to one month later, I'm confused. Can someone please explain to me in detail what kind of clothes should I carry on my trip? I live in a place where the coldest it has ever gotten is 15 degree Celsius. It's my first trip to Europe and only second trip abroad. Some other kinds of tips or suggestions are welcome too!!
Also, some basic tips and maybe outfit ideas too? (I'm a female).
Thanks in advance!!
There is not that much temperature difference between April and May so if you bought the right clothes for the holiday planned, they will still be right.
But Europe is not 'real cold' in April, unless you go to the tops of the mountains in Switzerland.
It might seem cold to you as you are used to a warmer climate, but the weather will mostly be mild.
You do never need several coats when going to Europe, nor body warmers on top of that, bring one warm coat and the sweaters. Your warmest trousers or (specially if wearing skirts) a layer underneath.
And for the rest your normal clothes, so you can adjust to the weather.
In all the areas you mention the weather is a bit unpredictable, rain is likely as is nice weather, so also bring a rain jacket.
Europe is not a country, and neither is Swiss - it's actually 'Switzerland'. Paris and Amsterdam are cities, not countries - and yes, this matters.
Unless from you from a very warm and dry climate, you will fine spring in all of those places to be very pleasant, with a light jacket required. Switzerland, being higher in altitude, might be a bit cooler.
It was 47 degree F when I had some hot chocolate on the top of Mount Rigi mid May. The clerk was not wearing a coat but had several layers of long sleeved sweaters.
If your going to the mountains, then bring a jacket, even if its summer there will probably still be snow up there
You need to do more research, because "Swiss" is not a place. Until you clear out the confusion you cannot plan your trip.
