Putin will take the Ukraine because there is nobody to stop him. President Obama has already stated that the US does not have a treaty with the Ukraine and as such, will not take any military actions against the Russian invaders. All of Western Europe has allowed itself to disarm aver the past three decades under the protection of the United States military and spend the money on domestic programs. Even if they wanted to reconstitute their militaries, they don’t have the money to do it. Facing the dependence on Russia for energy, none of the free Eastern or Western European countries will do anything more than pass token sanctions. Germany is the only country with the financial strength to do anything, and they are having to support the rest of the EU now as it is. So bottom line……Putin has the green light to do whatever he wants with regard to the Ukraine, and he just trying to do it in small steps to keep from creating a panic situation which would force Obama’s hand to do something out of shame. If Putin takes the country in pieces, he hasn’t nothing to fear.

They did not invade Ukraine. There are Russians and other natinals who are helping the civilian defense forces in eastern Ukraine to fight against the Ukraine government forces which have been killing them for months. There are no troops in Ukraine. They are volunteers.

Russia is not invading Ukraine at all, so perhaps it'd be better if you rephrased that.
