Russia want to regain the ex soviet states under their control. As you said their aint nothing the US can do without the fear of retaliation. Russia are powerful enough militarily to fight a conventional war and (I hope) neither country is stupid enough to use Nuclear Weaponary. Putin has Obama in a very compromising position.

Many self-alleged "conservatives" (esp. on the Alt. Right) in the US are ardently disdainful/oppositional to the Obama administration's fomentation against Russia. Contrarily though, there are bellicose neo-conservatives and advocates of interventionism-"crusaders of democracy" who maintain/espouse that it is America's duty to disseminate this inherently flawed and defective populist system. Welfare-Queen La'queesha from the Detriot slums should endowed with as much political liberty/sway as say, for instance, a neuroscientist or as an engineer. This is outrageously asinine and a component of the tribulation afflicting so many earnest-hardworking and erudite Americans. No or limited commiseration for the parasites or the degenerates.
