That sounds a bit complicated. If someone committed a crime that contravened sharia law but then left the zone and lived outside the zone, how would the law be enforced? Some aspects of Sharia might work such as Thursday/ Friday weekend, no alcohol etc. The Jews have, or have at least tried to create 'eruvs' in London, which is a similar idea. PS. Westerners in Arab countries do have something similar like sections of the supermarket where they can buy pork products and also closed off alcohol shops. Islam is an honourable and benign, if young, religion. It's the Islamists who are totally F&$%ED IN THE HEAD.
There are no alcohol areas already. This is not because of any Sharia law, but because various areas have been a problem because of people drinking in the streets

London is multicultural and the UK is still principally Christian. Sharia Law would not work as there are not that many Muslims (despite what the papers would have you believe).
Anyone moving to the UK and living there should follow British laws. If they want laws changed, they should do as everyone else has to and petition the Government.
Multiculturalism works both ways. We shouldn't have Sharia Law zones, if people want everyone to follow Sharia Law then they shouldn't be living here. In a multicutural society people should respect others culture. Had acouple of Muslim friends at university, they'd happily come with us to the pub/Student union bar but wouldn't drink alcohol. they were were perfectly happy for us to drink alcohol, no imposition of their values.
Why should we accept it? Multiculturalism should be about tolerance, not allowing one vocal minority to dominate all others. If you don't want to drink alcohol or eat pork then that's absolutely your choice. What you do not get to choose is how others live their lives.
Furthermore, why is it only in the west that we preach multiculturalism? I've spent a lot of time working in the Arabian Peninsula and believe me, the people there, whilst generally very nice, are not clambering over themselves to make concessions to foreigners. They expect migrants to adapt to their culture and not the other way around. We should expect the same.

What a ridiculous idea. This is not a muslim country. Only around 3% of the population is Muslim. Of those, only a small proportion are raving fundamentalists.
People come to this country because it's not some despotic barbaric medieval regime. If that's what anybody wants, they know where to go.
