Scotland wants devolved powers in the UK. You always hear "SNP don't want to cut NHS, therefore Scotland will be better off independent."
Scotland doesn't like the Tories, but they do like the extra help they receive from the Union, such as higher defences, money to pay for Scotland's budget, etc.
Scots simply want to run themselves, but always be part of the Union for stronger safety as it helps support them a lot more. Scotland knows that running themselves without the union will be pretty bad for jobs, but they are very socialist and don't like the Tories in England constantly cutting their public services. So they just want to run themselves with the strong support of the Union.
If Conservatives were always the third party like the Liberal Democrats, you'll find independence wouldn't even be thought of.
If Scotland declared independence, they would be shooting themselves in the foot very badly. England would cut off all subsidies, English companies would move south, the Scots would lose most tax revenues and be forced to invent their own currency (which would not be accepted anywhere), they would be kicked out of the EU and NATO, the Russians would be coming ashore the following day.
The referendum was clear - NO
Now N Sturgeon is saying that a generation has passed (that was quick) and that we have to go round again.
If the undy side gets a referendum every two years can the unionists demand a union vote every two =years if Scotland leaves?
They cannot just decide to do that - there are loads of legal and political changes that have to be made to make it possible and the referendum proved that Scottish people didn't want independence
50% of Scots said they did NOT want Independence.
No, we are far stronger, more secure and safer together as the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
I wish they would,
If the Scots want to be independent, that that is up to them,
All we need to do is sever ALL ties, build a fence and leave them to their own devices.
Not at the moment, it might be possible to salvage the Union. Let's wait and see how the EU referendum goes.
They voted "No" in the referendum. They voted for SNP in the general election to work inside the union, not for independence.
they can't, The UK holds up Scotland, with the money from the UK Scotland would go bankrupt instantly.
