Tattoos in Europe (Scotland/Britian?

I'm heading to college for nursing. I live in America now, and I often see nurses with clearly visible tattoos, including in a non profit catholic hospital. But I was wondering how acceptable being a nurse with tattoos in either britian or Scotland. Is it taboo? I plan on moving over there after college.

Just as a heads up, it's 'Britain', and it isn't really necessary to add Scotland in as well because Britain, politically, culturally and geographically includes Scotland.

In answer to your question, I've seen plenty of nurses with tattoos so, unless your tattoos are very graphic or controversial, I doubt it would be an issue. In terms of moving here though, the rules are pretty strict, even for nurses. Currently only specialist nurses who work in neonatal care units are eligible for a visa, other than that you're out of luck.

You stand no chance at all of getting a job in the United Kingdom if you cannot be bothered to find out the difference between Europe, Britain, Scotland and the UK.

It is not difficult, an hour in a library with some decent geography and political books will tell you how it all works (don't trust Wikipedia, a lot of rubbish is there).

Tatoos do exist on some nurses but they are very rare and are not generally liked by patients. You would have to consider the policy of the hospitals that you applied to.

The rest of Europe will have their own policies on tattoos. You would have to check with the individual countries that you want to apply to.

Your question is probably moot, due to the difficulty of getting a work visa here (only very specific nursing roles are eligible for a visa; take a look at the UK Occupation Shortage List for the current options)

Most hospitals don't allow any visible tattoos; obviously if no-one can see it, it would probably not be an issue.

Scotland is in Britain.

No visible tattoos. You won't be able to move to the UK, you won't get a visa as the UK is not short of nurses.

Yes it is frowned upon in the UK. Don't bank on moving here for a job, Nurses are not on the STEM list of occupations. You would have to get a British hospital to sponsor you.

Our Immigration rules are as strict as yours.

SCOTLAND/BRITAIN...??? .Scotland is part of BRITAIN.....Here they all seem to have them these days..SO COMMON....Used to pay at the fair to see the tattooed lady.....

BRITAIN OR UK..."The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland" ...= England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland....I AGREE, with such a basic knowledge of EUROPEAN geography no place for such here..WE have nurses galore from UK & REST of The European Union.....NOTE not UK & EU because we are PART of THE EU....
