And try some delicious tapas anywhere in the city! I recommend the 'Albondigas', fried calamari and the 'Jamon Serrano' with a nice cold draft beer! :) Enjoy!
Barcelona is very good country. Take a relaxing stroll along beautiful Port Vell Marina and also be inspired by the stunning Sagrada Familia Basilica and take a behind the scenes tour of FC Barcelona's Camp Nou Stadium also Relax at one of Barcelona's beach bars and enjoy a coffee in the historic Gothic Quarter.
Imalostfan: I see you are not very well informed. Bullfight has been banned in Barcelona and rest of Catalonia for some years.
In fact, Barcelona is not a Spanish city but a Catalan one. In Catalonia we have a different language, culture and identity. Catalonia is actually going to become an independent country in some years time, a fact most tourists who visit us are absolutely unaware of.
Regarding the question: you can visit those places which are not on the top list of tourists like Hospital de Sant Pau, which is not a hospital anymore and which can be visited, also Palau de la Música Catalana, where you can take a guided tour and learn about Catalonia's recent history.
Try Catalan cuisine like "pa amb tomàquet", escalivada or "botifarra amb mongetes" and stay away of Spanish fake stereotypes for tourists like sangria or de-frozen paella.
IN my view you have choosen good place.there r lots of places for visiting.like

Yes Barcelona is a good place for travel with family. If you want to live in Barcelona near beaches then booked a villa from here http://www.vakantiehuizenspanje.villamar...
Well..
i only hope your family will be wise enough to stay away from all the bull torturing festivals they got.
By watching these events you encourage animal cruelty based on traditions.
Apart from staying away from these "festivals of blood" ,have a good trip
:)
Tomorrow I have a flight to Barcelona, Spain (with my family). What are some interesting things to see? I have been there once, as we were n a cruise, but it was only a few hours on a tour bus, so I only saw a few things, like the outside of Gaudi's houses, as well as the outside of the Sagrada Familia.
Do you have any suggestions of places to see, as well as some ideas for an itinerary? I have read some travel guides, but I think it would help if I have some other people's opinions as well.
What we'd like to visit is the inside of the Sagrada Familia, and walk around La Rambla, Paseo de Gracia, and La Pedrera.
We will be staying there for a week.
Also, what would you rate Barcelona as a city? I love it, from what I have seen in my cruise experience.
By the way, we will not only be visiting, but also going to the beach, so we won't go sightseeing the whole day, everyday.
Thank you!
Ingrid
