No, Russia is not involved. Russians have crossed the border to help the defenseless citizens. 400,000 of them have fled but many elderly and sickly cannot leave. It is heartbreaking. They are out of water, electric power and so scared they are huddled in basements. The effing Poroshenko would sooner withhold food and medicine aid than to accept Russian help. This is really a dire humanitarian crisis caused by Kiev to annihilate all Russian speakers.
U.S. encouraged Maidan protest last November, then it supported overthrowing the former president because he wouldnt sign the EU trade deal. Then their corrupt presidential election with all Nazi candidates ended with a two-bit oligarch who has been making life difficult for the Russian-Ukrainians. He began cracking down and that turned into an offensive against the residents and the commanders in charge of the civilian self-defense forces. Kiev is responsible for over 2,000 killings in the two regions.
