Ways to get to Frankfurt, Germany?

Posted at: 2015-06-30
Hi guys...

Basically I live in Oxford, England,

And my girlfriend lives in Frankfurt, Germany.

I was just wondering what would be the cheapest, most reliable, and easiest way to get to Frankfurt, Germany?

I've been searching the Internet for ages and my girlfriend says its best to get the plane there, is that true? And if any of you do know the best way to do all of this please would you be able to tell me how? Thank you guys :)

Likely the cheapest way will be by coach, but it will take time.

When you book early you can get flights for just a tiny bit more, but do not forget to add the price to get to the bus stop and the airport on both ends as well.

http://www.skyscanner.net/ is good to get flight prices, but remember the earlier you book the more likely you get the lowest price.

Check out all airports with good bus/coach connections to Oxford, as coach travel is likely a lot cheaper than train to and across London to the airport.

When traveling by coach you make your way to Victoria coach station and on from there unless you find one of the very rare direct connections.

The companies I know about about are Eurolines and Magic Bus, but if you google -bus London Frankfurt- you might find more.

Again early booking gets you the better prices.

And if you want to check out the trains, http://www.seat61.com/Germany.htm#London to Frankfurt by train should have all you need.

The prices he quotes are the best deals, 3 or 4 months before traveling. nearer the travel date will be more expensive.

Definitely by Plane

I have lived in Frankfurt for 3 years and, since it has one of the largest airports in the world, there are plenty of airlines to choose. If you have actively look in websites (I recommend at least 2 weeks in advance) and choose unpopular hours to flight (say Tuesday at 11am) you can get really cheap prices.
