What are good places to visit in Spain?

The departure areas of the airports

I would say Barcelona. There are tons of things to do. Both for two teenage girls as for parents who likes museums and art. There are tons of parks and museums (the picasso museum is a must), the world famous Sagrada Familia church by Antoni Gaudí is a work of art. There are many buildings and a big park created by this man that are all very famous BCN attractions (park guell, sagrada familia, casa milà (la pedrera), casa batllo etc.... etc.. )

Barcelona is also full with entertainment if you want to go out by night, most popular by tourists is Opium and places like that down the beach (there are tons of discos at the beach).

You have the famous street Paseo de Gracia which is full of stores to by clothes or just anything really, as with Portal de Angel or the big department store El Corte Ingles where you can find just anything...

Anyway, Spain is big, there are many places to go and I'm sure you will enjoy any part of it. It's a great country indeed.

Castles? Go to Castilla. (Castilla-León and Castilla-La Mancha). That's what Castilla means - Castle.

Or search the word "Alcázar" and see what turns up. That's the Arabic/Spanish word for Castle. If you find one that intrigues you, start to look at that city. (Tip: Best ones are in Segovia and Sevilla).

Granada has been mentioned...one of the most enchanting cities anywhere!

Older teenage girls: What are YOUR interests? Not boring castles and museums? Tons of shopping in almost any city. Oh, I guess churches and cathedrals don't appeal to you, either?

we went to marbella last year it has plenty for old and young. the old town is very pretty and then of course you have puerto banus which is the rich peoples playground. for your parents they could take a trip to Gibraltar for a day which is very interesting also to Ronda which has breathtaking scenery. it will cost less than a tenner on a bus. the beaches are very good there and plenty of shopping.

My family are considering going to Spain next year and we don't know where to go. We've been to Portaventura a few years ago and me and my sister are now old enough to spend some days on our own. So we need a place that would appeal to two older teenage girls but would also appeal to two boring parents that like castles museums etc. Could you please specify the place name and why it would be a nice place. Hope you can win us over ;)
