The people of Manchester are deeply irritated by the Gallagher brothers, and wish they would just go away, so people can see that Manchester is actually lively and cheerful.
Awful accents, litter all the time, drink too much. White chav boys is basically right but that's all of the UK. Oh and the police let them get away with a lot. But you might luck out and find some amazing people. *Might* being the operative word.
It's a big city and like any big city, you get all kinds. I've been there several times and it's a great place.
Greater Manchester has more than 2.7 million so get all sorts, including thugs like the Gallaghers....I REPEAT..ALL SORTS..Generally friendly ones....
in some places it's a bit rough. But it's a lovely place and the people are really polite but there are some chavs around.
