Most of the population in Siberia lives in several larger cities. They almost all were founded and settled by ethnic Russians, while most of the natives lived as semi-nomads. So the "russification" happened when the urban population with relatively developed infrastructure, healthcare, etc exceeded the population of the semi-nomadic tribes. All the people in Siberia speak in Russian. It is the official language. However, all indigenous peoples have a say in their own language.
