The only thing I know about Oz is that it is a long way off.
I've met a few Australians - the first being an officer in my British Army regiment while serving in Germany in the 1960s. He was very much liked buy us because you could talk to him without having to listen to a person with a plumb stuck in his gob.
On the whole, Australians are down to earth and mean what they say.
Above all, they have a national anthem to die for - not one mention of Queen person.

Never been there myself unfortunately but I work with a lot of US military and have not heard one speak badly of their time there. It's a bit late in the game for me but would love to visit before I leave this all behind.
Best month of my life. Nicest most genuine people I've ever met. I canyoned in the Blue Mountains, drank with the Melbourne socialists and the Mooloolooba hicks, surfed the whole coast and had the time of my life. I would move there if I could.
Only visited a few times myself; quite liked it. Maybe a bit overhyped, probably courtesy of the Aussie tourism board, but overall very pleasant. In fact, wouldn't mind visiting some more, but it is SO BLOODY FAR...!
A friendly country with lots of sunshine.
However, we don't understand why it seems so important to some Australians to rub our faces in the dirt at sport!
It's nice.
It very looked nice when the Dodgers visited to play a two game series.
I don't think they give this country much thought at all. If I lived in the UK or the US, I wouldn't.
If I'm to believe my Kiwi acquaintances, it's all dust and dead trees!
Mass murderers of innocent aboriginals, racists and bigoted.Fosters, cricket lovers.
